Prafind

Responsive Web Application Design

CASE STUDY — 2020

—

“Health Hustle” was originally the name of the organization and the client is flexibly changing the name and rebranding “Health Hustle” to “Prafind“. The client doesn’t have a registered website but has provided the mission and the goal of the organization such as; “creating healthy communities”, or “building a whole community of health and care”. Prafind wants to offer in-house therapy in Canada, but not just one service, and targets two users: User 1: Clients and User 2: Practitioners.

TIMELINE

Feb 2020 - April 2020

GOALS

Project Goal: To put together the basic foundational blocks for a web-based service that allows clients to search for and book a practitioner for a health and wellness session in their home or office.

Business Goal: Point Prafind in the direction of eventually becoming the #1 service for overall preventative self-care.

User Goal: Clients able to book a practitioner based on their bio info, reviews, and ratings. Practitioner’s profile page, onboarding, uploading their documents, and have a background check.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Many people in Vancouver have extended health care and do not use it for a variety of reasons. The fact that the resource of health and wellness is available to many people, for free essentially, but is not being utilized properly leaves a gap in the market for us to directly connect practitioners with clients.

These include not being able to easily find an available practitioner, not being educated on the benefits of various health and wellness services, not being top of mind that they have extended health coverage, and be willing to spend time on a session.

There is no website that offers in-house therapy in Canada, but it offers either massage only based in the USA or offers multiple treatments; such as beauty, grooming, massage, fitness, and physiotherapy based in the UK.

“There was a time when doctors came to your door and helped you when you needed them”

RESEARCH

Our main goal is to solve real problems for real users, so it's always very exciting to tackle the immense task of getting to know our users. That’s exactly what research is for so that we’re not only relying on our intuition. We wanted to find out what is the main focus for booking practitioners for new users and return users. As well as any solutions for a better experience in booking and what kind of data are users mainly focused on. We also did some research getting practitioners onboard step by step. In this project, we are targeting two users: User 1: Clients and User 2: Practitioner.

  • Drafted two short surveys, and sent them to our networks as well as the client contacts.

  • Conducted interviews over the phone with several massage therapists.

  • Mapped out the experience of users visiting comparable websites.

KEY FINDINGS
—

While creating the Affinity Diagram, we have discovered some key findings that highlighted the problems and pain points that people are experiencing or hoping to experience. We then proceed with pattern recognition to even further advance in a possible feature set and from this, and we got these for both clients and practitioners. These are the main pain points:

  1. Trust & Safety: Users have a concern about inviting people over to their home and given a massage especially you’re going to be naked. Payment safety was also another concern for both users and practitioner

  2. Review and Ratings: Users express that reviews and ratings might be helpful to acknowledge more about the services that they are using.

  3. Practitioner Bio: Many users think that this is a “must-have”, able to view the practitioner’s bio and know what they are qualified in.

  4. Chat: It's nice to know how to get in touch with the practitioners on the website. Not everyone is comfortable sharing their mobile contact.

  5. treatment types: Massage, Physiotherapy, and Naturotherapy.

  6. Demographics: target market between 25 and 45, female.

  7. Safety and trust: are of utmost importance, after all, you are inviting someone you don’t know to your home.

  8. Ratings: are a great way to build rapport.

Exploration and Iteration

  • Client: As a new user, I want to be able to search for a practitioner's bio and reviews so that I can know the site is safe to use.

  • Practitioner: As a registered practitioner, I want to be able to create my account with an easy platform so that I can build my business and clientele from it.

MVPs

Afterward prioritizing the features, we determined that these 9 features must be included in our minimum viable product.

  • Safety Features

  • Appointment booking

  • Practitioner Bio

  • How it works

  • Practitioner rating and reviews

  • Data security

  • Search filters

  • Practitioner onboarding

  • Chat

Low Fidelity

A quick draft down of some ideas and sketch out the wireframes of the main pages for searching for a practitioner, filter page, treatment page, Treatment description, and the login flow of the general content. Along with some user testing the sketched wireframes.

Mid Fidelity

Mid Fidelities are wireframes that are a digitally structured version based on our notes and sketches that are meant to be semi-functional, but not include any design aesthetics or graphics. A blueprint of an architecture plan.

Iterate, iterate and iterate.

OUTCOME

I’ve learned a lot from this project and it involved a ton of research and detailed interactions. From this experience, I’ve realized the importance of communication and teamwork collaboration. My teammate and I communicated a lot and try to solve things together, which avoided any changing roadmaps and delaying the handoff of this project.

And again, I am truly thankful to have this opportunity to work with talented and passionate people in my team. I gained more knowledge each day and I learn new stuff from both my UI & UX group.
